THE IMPORTANCE OF INTENTION

I, (Umar son of Al Khattab) heard the Messenger of Allah (Allah’s blessing and peace be upon) say:

"Indeed, deeds are (judged) only by the intention, and there is for everyone that which he intended.
If one's migration is to Allah and His Messenger, then one's migration is to Allah and His Messenger.
If one's migration is to seek the world, then one's migration is for that. If a man migrates for the sake of a woman and marries her, then his migration is for that which he migrated."

Westview Book Reviews: The Myth of Islamic Tolerance: How Islamic Law Treats Non-Muslims by Robert Spencer

"A thing without a name escapes understanding," warns preeminent Islamic scholar Bat Ye'or of jihad and dhimmitude-the Islamic institutions of, respectively, war and perpetual servitude imposed on conquered non-Muslim peoples. Both, Ye'or notes in an essay entitled "Historical Amnesia," are in the process of globalization. This is not the benign economic Read the rest of this entry »

Traps Of Satan, And Protection From It by ‘Al-Huthaifi

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds. May peace and blessing be upon His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him), his family and his companions.

Dear Muslims! Fear Allah in public and private, seek for the pleasure of the Last Day and do not follow the path of the mischief-makers. Know that every thing has its beginning and end. Be also aware that you are now in the abode of trails and that your final destination is either Paradise of Hell.

The Almighty Allah, has made Islam the only way that leads to Paradise and He says, “And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.” (Aal-’Imraan: 85).

Allah ordains under the shade of Islam, good deeds than can save man from destruction and protect him from evils. He, the Almighty, created inhabitants for Paradise who will do righteous deeds, and those who call unto it such as the Prophets (peace and blessing of Allah be upon them) and their followers. They are those that Allah has favoured, given the highest ranks and made them successful in the race towards good deeds. Allah says, “And whosoever obey Allah and His Messenger, then they will being in the company of those on whom Allah has bestowed His Grace, of the Prophets, the Siddiqoon (those followers of the Prophets, who were first and foremost to believe in them, like Aboo Bakr As-Siddeeq) the martyrs and the righteous. And how excellent these companions are! Such is the Bounty from Allah and Allah is Sufficient as All-Knower.” (An-Nisaa: 69-70).
Their conduct is excellent, their private is clean and their deeds are pure. Their reward then was happiness in this world and the next, crowned with everlasting dwelling in Paradise.

Friday Khutba: Imitating Disbelievers by Su’ood Ash-Shuraym

First Khutbah

I advise you, as well as myself, to fear Allaah in times of prosperity and misfortune, in secret and in public: "O mankind! Worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous." (Al Baqarah: 21).

O people! When a person meditates upon the histories of past nations and populations, he will be instantly amazed at the revolutions and transformations they went through. For instance, there was a pioneering nation (i.e., the Muslim nation) which led the world for many centuries but then, it faltered and lost its leading role; it fell in the midst of blind imitation and followed the paths of other nations in terms of manners and beliefs. Once it was at the acme of development and reached the highest level of power and glory, but it later fell to the lowest point and was afflicted with misery. It died after it had been living, deteriorated after it was once flourishing and withered after it was blossoming. It was the nation that discovered the sources of knowledge and developed the Islaamic civilization and sciences, which the West later obtained significantly, without having to exert the least of efforts. Thus it seems as if the gates towards progress had been shut off for the Muslims as they turned into artificial consumers of the Western civilization. They even began to adopt certain features of it, which were originally theirs but had been stolen away from them.
